91 TAYLOR-BURTON Weight of the original diamond 69.42 cts. The source of
the 240.80 cts. rough stone was the South African mine in Premier. It owes its
fame to its purchaser, Richard Burton, who gave it as a present to his wife, Elizabeth
Taylor.

THE BLUE MAHARAJAH Weight of the original diamond 36.00 cts. 1t is said to
have been property of the Maharajah of Patiala. This blue gem was originally cushion-cut,
about 47.00 cts., with a big inclusion on one side. It was later cut into a perfect
emerald shape, by an American cutter, the resulting stone becoming absolutely
pure, and today it belongs in a private collection in America.

TIFFANY Weight of the original diamond 128.51 cts. Extracted in 1877, this
rough diamond was found in the De Beers mines in South Africa. A very beautiful
golden-yellow diamond, it was cut the year after by the famous jeweler, Tiffany
of New York. Cushion-shaped and rather square, it has 90 facets.

TRANSVAAL Weight of the original diamond 67.89 cts. The big pear-shaped diamond
of champagne color was cut from a rough 240.00 cts. stone found in Transvaal,
South Africa. It belongs to an American firm and has appeared in many US exhibits.
95 TRANSVAAL BLUE Weight of the original diamond 25.00 cts. The
only blue diamond of substantial size whose origin is known: the Premier Mine,
Transvaal. 96 UNCLE SAM Weight of the original diamond 12.42
cts. At 40.23 cts., "Uncle Sam" is the biggest rough diamond ever extracted
in North America. It is of high quality, but has a rather elongated form like
the Star of Arkansas. It has been cut in a beautifully elongated emerald-cut.
97 VANDERBILT Weight of the original diamond 16.25 cts, The pear-shaped
diamond was bought in 1922 by Reginald Vanderbilt for Gloria Morgan of Tiffany's.
It is presently the property of a Florida business man, mounted in a splendid
diamond collier of brilliant and emerald-cut diamonds. 98 WHITE GOLCONDA
Weight of the original diamond 102.70 cts. It was said to be the most sparkling,
flawless and exceptionally white diamond ever seen, therefore justifying its name
Golconda, after the famous Indian mine from which so many exceptionally beautiful
diamonds have been extracted. 99 WITTELSBACH Weight of the original
diamond 35.56 cts. Interesting for the blue color that makes it a particularly
rare stone, it was mounted on a marvelous brooch surrounded by a crown of many
other diamonds for Mary Amelia of Austria in 1722, during the reign of Maximilian
11. Later, the famous brooch changed owner, was exhibited in Europe and in the
USA and bought in 1964 by a German collector. 100 ZALE LIGHT OF PEACE
Weight of the original diamond 130.27 cts. It is the largest of the diamonds
cut from a 434.60 cts, rough stone. 12 other diamonds have been cut from the same
stone, all of them from 9.00 to 0.37 cts. The rough diamond was the largest ever
