These three diamonds form the central part of a brooch, completed by 19 other medium-sized diamonds and by 216 small rose-cut diamonds, which can be found at the Historical Museum in Dresden, Germany. 22 DRESDEN GREEN Weight of the original diamond 41.00 cts. 1t is certainly the largest existing apple-green pear-shaped diamond. It is mounted on a beautiful brooch with two other diamonds of 31.00 and 13.00 cts. with many other smaller diamonds. 23 DRESDEN YELLOW Weight of the original diamond 38.00 cts. Brilliant-cut diamond, with a marvelous yellow color. 24 DRESDEN ROSE Weight of the original diamond 35.00 cts. Its name comes from the rose-cut of the stone that is the central part of another magnificent brooch of the 1700's. 25 DRESDEN PENDELOQUE Weight of the original diamond approx. 19.00 cts. Like the Dresden Rose, it adorns an eighteenth century jewel and takes its name from the elegant pear shape, briollette-cut. 26 DRESDEN BROWN Weight of the original diamond approx. 25.00 cts. Once again, the diamond takes its name from its color. Together with the above two diamonds it is part of the collection of the Dresden Historical Museum, Germany. 27 ENGLISH DRESDEN Weight of the original diamond 76.50 cts. This magnificent pear-shaped diamond is, together with the "Star of the South" (no. 87), one of the best big diamonds ever discovered. Exceptionally white and flawless it has an incredible fire and brightness. The original rough diamond weighed 119.50 cts. and was extracted from Bagagem Mines, Brazil in 1857. Its name is attributed to the fact that its first purchaser was the English merchant E.H. Dresden. 28 EARTH STAR Weight of the original diamond 111.59 cts. 0riginating from the South African mine of Jagersfontein, the rough diamond, coffee-brown and weighing 248.90 cts., was cut in a pear-shape and exhibited at the Kimberley Museum in 1971. 29 EMPRESS EUGENIE Weight of the original diamond 51.00 cts. Potemkin, the original name of this diamond, was oval and slightly pear-shaped. Belonging to Empress Catherine 11 of Russia, it was given as a present to Prince Grigori Potemkin.Napoleon III as a wedding present later brought it. 30 EUGENIE BLUE Weight of the original diamond 31-00 Cts. Heart-shaped, with a beautiful blue color it is said to have belonged to the Empress Eugenie. It was given as a present to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. where it is presently exhibited. | ||||||||||||
