1 BLACK AMSTERDAM Weight of the original diamond 33.74 cts. This beautiful pear-shaped stone has 145 facets. Deserving its name, it is extraordinarily black, even more so than the Orlov, yet it retains a vivid brightness. It was presented by its owner, D. Drukker of Amsterdam, at the European Diamond Council as a commemorative item for the 700th Anniversary of Amsterdam. 2 BLACK ORIOV Weight of the original diamond 67.50 cts. Known also as the Eye of Brahma Diamond, it presently belongs to a private collection in New York. 195.00 cts. and dark brown in color, it was extracted from an Indian mine after which it was cut and later owned by the Princess Nadia Orlov. The gem was exhibited in 1951 at the American Natural History Museum. 3 BRIOLETTE OF JUNE Weight of the original diamond 48.42 cts. A diamond with a beautiful pale-yellow color and a quite rare pear-shaped cut. 4 BRUNSWICK BLUE Weight of the original diamond 13.75 cts. Its origin goes back to the 112.25 cts. TavernierBlue Diamond that was cut into many stones, among them the French Blue of 67.50 cts. The French Blue was later re-cut to obtain a better shape and this 13.75 cts. stone was bought by the Duke of Brunswick. It was later sold in 1874 after which every trace of it was lost. 5 CELLINI GREEN Weight of the original diamond 25.00 cts. We have no definite information about this oval diamond that was described by Cellini as being "Green like a pale emerald". We cannot be certain whether it was really a diamond or rather another gem, an emerald or a peridot. 6 CELLINI YELLOW Weight of the original diamond 35.00 cts. Cellini as being "square-cut, yellow colored" also described this diamond. 7 CUBAN CAPITOL Weight of the original diamond 23.04 cts. Round in shape and yellow in color, this diamond, which came from an African mine, had a quite unusual destination. Not a collier or a bracelet of a royal princess but instead, in 1928 it was placed in the pavement of Campidoglio, Havana, to indicate the military point of the roads. 8 CULLINAN I Weight of the original diamond 530.20 cts. Also called the Great Star of Africa, it is the biggest diamond cut from the largest rough stone ever extracted in the world (3,106.00 cts.). Pear-shaped cut, it is famous world over because it remains to this day a part of the British Royal Sceptre. Destined for this use by King Edward, it can be seen with the other jewels of the British Crown in the Tower of London. 9 CULLINAN II Weight of the original diamond 317.40 cts.
